The Days of The Phoenix EP by AFI was a CD put out in 2001 on Nitro Records to preview a few songs from AFI’s “The Art of Drowning” album. This EP features only 3 tracks including “The Days of the Phoenix”, “Wester”, and an unreleased track “A Winter’s Tale”. There have only been about 500 of these CD’s pressed so it is a very collectible item, especially for any AFI fan.
I just recently purchased a copy of The Days of the Phoenix EP CD on eBay for $9.99. I knew it was too good to be true, I didn’t expect to win the auction, I thought someone else would have bid over me. As soon as eBay sent me the winning auction email I knew I was getting a fake, but still hoping! The seller’s username is syjude1998 (ships from China) and he claims the CD is authentic and sealed. Well, he was partially right, when I got the CD it was sealed, but not authentic.
So to help the AFI fans out there I have created this image to help people determine a real DOTP EP vs a fake DOTP EP. Thanks goes out to Slinch for the image and for schooling me on the differences. Maybe one day I will own a real copy, but for now, I’m rockin’ the fake one!
